New to Forrest Fenn’s The Thrill of the Chase?

The Thrill of the Chase – Keep from getting derailed.

You now have a brand new book in your hands called The Thrill of the Chase. You open it and start reading the book like everyone else has done. When you finish the book, your immediate thought should be written down. It may be important later.

#1 Most important rule – DO NOT write in the book ! Put your notes in text file that you can carry with you. I have over a Gig of data that is on my phone. Don’t let past thoughts written in a book mess up your current thoughts.

On my PC, i create a folder called Forrest Fenn. In there I have created folders named for the information that is stored within; maps, photos, search locations, etc. Once its updated I transfer what I can to my phone, so I can carry it with me if I go somewhere and there is no phone reception.

I bought a boatload of books from the official store who sells the Forrest Fenn Books, The Thrill of the Chase, too far too walk and Once Upon a While. Its in Santa Fe, New Mexico and its called The Collected Works Bookstore and Coffee House.

I have since handed out four copies of The Thrill of the Chase to people whom I believe I can trust and I am sure they will help. One received a copy of The Thrill of the Chase on Christmas Day. The other “surprise” package will be delivered to another potential searcher in the coming days. I know these people have great potential and will aid in a brainstorm that may be bigger than a summer thunderstorm in Montana.

Not only in MY opinion, but others say it as well.

In my opinion, here is a way to keep yourself on track and don’t become distracted by every body else’s I think, maybe, it could be, I don’t knows…..

One,

Read the book normally. Then read the poem over and over and over again and just think about every line. Read it four, five, ten times. And them, go back and read the book again slowly looking for hints in the book that will help you with clues in the poem.

Forrest wrote:

The person who finds the treasure will have studied the poem over and over, and thought, and analyzed and moved with confidence. Nothing about it will be accidental. T. S. Eliot said:

We shall not cease from our exploration
And at the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time

Two,

Stay off the You tuber channels who THINK they know whats going on. They have not found the treasure themselves in nearly ten years, so what they have to say may not be the best answer to your question. In my opinion, they are looking for people to give them your best guess where THEY can look. No one in The Thrill of the Chase is going to give you the winning answer to a million dollar prize, so do not offer your solution to them.

 Forrest responds-

You are not the first to figure the postmarks into some kind of equation. What difference does it make which one came first, the book or the hiding? You are an individual thinker and the kind who might find the treasure. But remember, if you follow yourself around a circle sooner or later you’ll be behind yourself. Happy hunting. f

Forrest Fenn and the Thrill of the Chase references

Tarry Scant is a website that has links to emails, posts and videos that Forrest Fenn more than likely has said something about the word. At the top center, put in your word(s) you would like to search for. A list of results will appear, and from there to the right of the result should be a LINK that will take you to that quote. I HIGHLY Suggest being careful of what you reveal and type in here. I am sure it is monitored. What I mean is, don’t type in specific geographical locations. Search for key words here:

Forrest Fenn Videos about The Thrill of the Chase and his life in general. in my opinion are pretty important to set the “mood”. BOOK MARK these video locations.

Dal Neitzel made some videos of Forrest Fenn, they are here:

I will add to this post later, or offer more content within these walls. I suggest reading the book at least once and then, be careful on your searches for information.
